DMCA / Copyright Policy

1. Respect for Intellectual Property

Reffo.ai respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects users of the Service to do the same. We will respond to notices of alleged copyright infringement that comply with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (“DMCA”) and applicable law.

2. Filing a Takedown Notice

If you believe that content indexed on Reffo.ai infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent. Your notice must include:

• A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
• Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed.
• Identification of the material that is claimed to be infringing, including the URL or other specific location on the Service where the material can be found.
• Your contact information, including address, telephone number, and email address.
• A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
• A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorized to act on the copyright owner's behalf.

4. Counter-Notification

If you believe that your content was removed or de-indexed by mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification to our designated agent. Your counter-notification must include:

• Your physical or electronic signature.
• Identification of the material that was removed and the location where it appeared before removal.
• A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good faith belief that the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
• Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court in your district and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original takedown notice.

Upon receipt of a valid counter-notification, we may restore the removed content within 10-14 business days unless the copyright owner files a court action.

5. Repeat Infringer Policy

In accordance with the DMCA, we will terminate the accounts of users who are determined to be repeat infringers. We may also, at our sole discretion, limit access to the Service or terminate the accounts of any users who infringe any intellectual property rights of others, whether or not there is any repeat infringement.

6. Decentralized Network Notice

Reffo.ai operates as a discovery layer for the decentralized Reffo network. When we receive a valid takedown notice, we can remove or de-index the infringing content from the Reffo.ai webapp and search results. However, because individual beacons are self-hosted and independently operated, Reffo.ai cannot control or remove content stored on individual users' beacons. Beacon operators are independently responsible for the content they host and serve on the network.
